About Mock-off

It's hard to believe that it Mock-off was inspired by a single purple bag. It all started back in 2009 when I was flipping through a magazine and found the perfect purple hobo-style handbag. Unfortunately perfection came with a $350 price tag. I sighed in defeat and tried to put the pricey hobo out of my mind. Weeks later on a trip to Target, I found a bag that was so similiar to the purple designer bag that I could hardly tell the difference. The price: $20.

Pleased, I purchased the bag. As I walked out of the store I thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a single place online where you can search designer looks for their inspired knock-off pieces?”

And so the concept of the "mock-off" was born.

The concept is simple. Mock-off takes designer and celebrity outfits and finds similar alternatives to each piece. If you find a piece you like, simply click on the image to purchase. We feature designers like Alexander Wang, Guiseppe Zanotti, Jennifer Meyer, Prada and many more. We feature celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, Rihanna and other style icons.
